          Biography of Remo Girone

          Remo Girone is an actor, born in Asmara, Eritrea (now Ethiopia).

          He studied at the Institute of Economics and Commerce but decided to pursue a career in acting instead. In 1971, he moved to Rome and enrolled in the National Academy of Dramatic Arts.

          Early Career

          Girone made his film debut in Miklós Jancsó's "Rome Wants Caesar Again" and gained recognition two years later when he portrayed Konstantin Treplev in Marco Bellocchio's "The Seagull." He became well-known in the theater world for his performances in Enrico D'Amato's "Romeo and Juliet," Luca Ronconi's "Mirra," and Giuseppe Patroni Griffi's "Oreste." His production of Chekhov's "Uncle Vanya," directed by Peter Stein, received great acclaim at the Edinburgh Theater Festival.
