          MaulviAbdul Haq (Urdu: مولوی عبد الحق) (20 April 1870 – 16 August 1961) was a scholar and a linguist, who some call Baba-e-Urdu (Urdu: بابائے اردو, Father of Urdu), was a scholar and linguist of the Urdu language.

          The main credit for the development and promotion of Urdu language in 20th century goes to him, because he devoted his entire life to Urdu, and also demanded for it to be made the national language of Pakistan.[3][1]

          Early life

          He was deeply influenced by Sir Syed Ahmad Khan's political and social views, and, following his wishes, learned English and scientific subjects.
